Project background

As a capstone project to our ARC Linkage project, Digital Archives, Datadiversity and Discoverability: The Strehlow Collection as Knowledge Resource for Remote Indigenous Communities, we developed a number of collaborative projects (digital storytelling, media productions) with community elders and a number of students from the Ntaria School with the assistance of School teachers. Titled Ntaria Heroes, we worked with the idea of linking School students to the Strehlow Research Centre archives (genealogies and photographic collection) with the guidance of community elders. The film’s main theme is to feature the contributions of community champions, past and present, and their impact on the community.
