Here's Looking at You Kid

The photographic installation work, explores the boundary between what is invisible to the human eye but visible to machinic and algorithmic processes in artwork based on image based neural network processing. It explores ideas related to the deterministic nature of initial conditions, makes visible the cumulative corruption in data based analysis that can lead to inaccuracies in prediction. With the massive proliferation of open source source projects (from mid 2022 following the leaking of first Meta’s model and the the parameter weightings) future developments are likely to have very divergent levels of a broader societal level perspective and consequently be nested even further from oversight of end uses. The works encourage viewers to question implications in terms of the themes of the use of AI in the areas of goal and adgenda setting and interpretation and oversight.
