Dawne Fahey is pursuing an arts-based, practice-led PhD. The title of her research project is Visualising Empathy: An Alchemist in the Landscape. Her artistic practice embodies an intense curiosity as she seeks to find emotional depth between abstracted landscapes, the materiality of cold wax and oil paintings, and evocative full-colour infrared photographs. These complex, rich surfaces become visual representations of her inner landscape created in response to her fieldwork in her ancestral landscapes in the United Kingdom and Australia.
