The Unreflected

The Unreflected

Dr Enrico Scotece

Profile

We are of the landscape through light and dark, immersive gestures, and as a spatial embodiment of memory and the experiential process of seeing. The Unreflected is a response to writing of one’s immediate direct and metaphorical relationship to place and the landscape as a moving visual plateau. The moving image allows for the ‘inner’ connectedness to also become interconnectedness by way of visual dialogues and actions that are generated from a culture of photographic practice as an expression of self and place. Knowing, being, and thinking are a lived experience of interaction and knowledge transfer. Existing within my own sub-culture of making photographs and defining relationships to the land, an act of receptivity upon connecting with the importance of Country as a kind of mimesis has surfaced. Based on the premise that there is no such thing as a silent film, The Unreflected seeks a constitutive relationship between place and lived experiences.
