Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in the communication and creative industries in New York city? On our ‘Bite of the Big Apple’ study tour, you will spend two weeks immersed in one of the world’s most vibrant cities, and visit global communications agencies such as WE Communications, Buck PR, and Havas Red, in addition to Museum of Public Relations, Little Island, and many other iconic bastions of the communication and creative industries.
Stay on-campus in the heart of Manhattan at Pace University, in addition to attending guest lectures and workshops (plus plenty of free time to explore the city that never sleeps!). This study tour is open to any undergraduate student at WSU who has completed 80CPs of study by July 2025, but is primarily aimed at those studying public relations, advertising, journalism, screen media, business, marketing, tourism management, music, design, and more. Plus, get academic credit by enrolling in CART3002 Communication, Creative Industries, and Screen Media Study Tours (or equivalent) in Spring 2025 (we recommend consulting your Academic Program Advisor before embarking on the study tour, to ensure you have space in your program).
Dr Nicole Bridges has personally designed this study tour to provide students at Western a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to gain access to the international communication and creative industries network in New York. Those who attended last year’s study tour have described the transformative experience it has been for them, with this statement summing it up nicely: “It was a life highlight. Going to NYC was incredible and I could leave it at that – but going with such a like-minded group (who I grew so close to), and experiencing the behind the scenes of so many interesting creative/cultural and business facets of the city was unreal. It was a perfect blend of personal exploration and freedom and academic learning”.
